North Carolina law states that all children entering the 7th grade must have a Tdap booster and one dose of meningococcal vaccine. Letters have been mailed and given to students who do not have these required immunizations. Immunization records can be dropped off in Student Services. If we do not receive proof of immunizations by September 29, your student will not be allowed to attend school on September 30. Please contact our school nurse, Ms. Cornick, at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions.
PowerSchool Demographic/Contact Verification forms have been sent home with your student. Please mark any corrections on the form, sign the form, and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher. Even if there are no updates to the demographic/contact information, sign and return the form. Please remember that students can only be released to contacts listed in PowerSchool.
Heart & Sole, you probably know it as Girls on the Run, has come to Daniels. It is a fun club that uses physical activity and games to get girls going. It also covers topics such as identity development, stress management, conflict resolution, and building self-confidence. It will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays after school starting in October. Registration is required; scholarships are available. You can go to gotriangle.org for more information or find the flyer in the parent group email that will be sent out by the PTA. Have questions? Email Ms. Thornton at email@example.com.
Parents – If you plan to volunteer at Daniels, please note that all continuing volunteers approved for the 2016 -2017 school year MUST reactivate as a volunteer no later than 4:00 p.m. on October 31, 2016. Volunteers may go to the Daniels Media Center or any WCPSS site and register through the intranet. After October 31, individuals previously approved may not volunteer without a new criminal record check.
Those are all of the announcements we have for this week. I hope you have a great week. As always, I thank you for your support.
